KT Tape Pro is made up of synthetic precut strips. It is the very first synthetic fiber, high performance kinesiology tape. I have to say that this is a huge leap forward in kinesiology tape. We have been testing this tape for 6 weeks now and it takes mucho punishment and does not budge.
How is KT Tape Pro different than KT Tape and other kinesiology tapes?
Why synthetic? For one thing, synthetic fibers are thicker, therefore stronger and more durable. It is a high performance kinesiology tape designed for pro, elite and serious athletes and athletes performing under conditions where most tapes might not stick. Iron Man tape. Triathlon tape. You get the picture. This is the very first synthetic version of kinesiology tape. And it is designed to stick longer and play harder.
KT Tape Pro is a good choice for clinicians
It’s also designed for clinicians like MDs, ATCs, PTs, DCs in addition to other healthcare professionals. The tape’s sticking power makes it great for patients who have been rough on the tape and have intricate patterns that can come undone after days of pulling clothing over it.
Design, structure and rich colors
KT Tape Pro is KT Tape's first 10" I-strips, without the split down the middle of the tape. Each 16-foot roll contains 20 tear-off 10” strips which is comparable to the rolls they sell in stores. (Clinical rolls have been 20'). It's sticking power makes KT Tape Pro a really good value. At this writing it sells for $19.95 MSRP.
KT Tape PRO has a printed reflective design for higher visibility in low lighting conditions which is a nice touch but should not replace the importance of wearing other reflective clothing.
And the colors? While I would not buy kinesiology tape for the colors alone, the rich colors really pop. It’s stunning really. And if you don’t want pretty, there is always beige and black.
It comes in a protective round case pictured in this listing. This keeps the tape in pristine condition. But you can still take strips and put them in a side pocket for convenience.

Disney World marathon winner Fredison Costa successfully defends his title at the 2012 Disney World marathon. His calves are taped with the new KT Tape Pro synthetic tape.
How does the new KT Tape Pro Perform?
Magnificent. I was blown away as were some of my testers. Although I am personally not an elite athlete and far from a pro, this mediocre runner will have a hard time going back to previous versions of the tape. Good thing I don’t have to qualify to buy it.
Not only does it stick really, really well, it sticks fast. I did not even rub it. And the pain relief is instant. I tried on a sore elbow that I banged pretty hard and was blue and swollen. I applied the tape as a “band aid” in this instance, and voila, the pain was reduced by at least 85% and the swelling subsided.
Now we also tried it on a strained knee and a sore ankle, Achilles tendonitis and tennis elbow. For me and my testers, it seemed to work faster than any previous type of kinesiology tape. We had a hard time telling exactly how much faster but that was one of the comments I kept hearing.
Peeling off KT Tape Pro
Since it sticks better, it takes more patience to remove. It does leave a residue that you can remove with a body oil. I tried alcohol. Didn’t really work. But had some body oil that did the trick with a bit of elbow grease. So after removing the tape, take a cotton ball, soak it in oil and this will help remove the residue.
I felt that the tape was worth this and if you want sticky, you gotta put up with getting sticky off. It will stay for a week or more if you let it. And I am not sure if it’s effective after the typical 4-5 days but I kept it on a little longer.
