Works for 75% of patients but takes up to 60 daysOnce oral medications fail to adequately control pain, because Hyalgan is administered via a series of three injections, with maximum benefits not realized for up to 60 days in some cases, cortisone (anti-inflammatory) injections are usually the preferred treatment option as they are administered as a single injection with fast-acting effects.
