The Bauerfeind GenuTrain S Knee Brace supports, cushions and massages the knee. It is meant to stabilize the knee while playing soccer, tennis, running or whatever sport you play. By the way, the brace is made for LCL, MCL but not ACL and PCL.

The lateral stabilizers support unstable joints. Basically, it’s a fitted sleeve with bars to keep your knee protected and your patella strapped down so it doesn’t wander aimlessly about. It also reduces pain with the compression in key areas of the knee that may have arthritis.

If you are waiting for MCL or LCL surgery, have arthritis, patella maltracking, a cartilage tear or any of the above listed knee ailments, the Genutrain knee can be indispensable—addressing more than one knee concern. It helps with knee pain and allows more flexibility in the knee joint.

The Bauerfeind braces are very well made, anatomically sound and will last for years. So the price is negligible as you can wash this one. While we have reviewed other knee braces here, we find these to be worth the extra money in the long run. Many times if you have health insurance, you can get one through your doctor and get some of the cost covered.

Breathable material

In our opinion, this knit is far more breathable than the neoprene braces. It can be worn in hot, humid weather more easily.

It is made of : 33% polyamide, 26% Cawiton, 16% steel, 9% elastodiene, 5% polyurethane, 3% spandex, 3% rayon, 3% cotton, 1% polyethylene, 1% polyester.

Best stability knee brace for ROM

In terms of a brace designed for knee instability, this is a great brace in what it offers in return for range of motion (ROM). It is less restrictive but offers more range of motion that most braces with lateral stabilizers.

It stays tight to the back of your knee thru the full range of motion and the engineered knit stays up and works far better than all the other neoprene basic braces available.

This brace is meant to be worn while you are active and not something you wear when you go to bed at night.

The conditions for which it offers pain relief

It is designed to relieve pain from both medial and lateral epicondylitis, muscle strains. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, arthritis, and tendinitis. It has a comfortable shock absorbing liner designed to help wick moisture away from the skin.

Get the right size.

This does come in left/right versions so make sure you specify right or left knee. This particular brace is not interchangeable.

If you are on the bubble, order one size down. It won’t stay up as well if you order a size too large.  So when you measure, measure tight and not loose and again, defer to the smaller size instead of visa versa.
